2021-22 School Budget Voters Guide: Bronxville, Eastchester

Voters in the Tuckahoe, Bronxville and Eastchester school districts will be going to the polls Tuesday. Here's what you need to know.

BRONXVILLE, NY — Voters around Westchester County will be going to the polls Tuesday to approve their school district's budget, including the Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe districts.

Also on the ballot are elections for school board members and some other propositions.

In the Bronxville school district, voters are being asked to approve a $50.6 million budget for the 2021-22 school year.

There is also a proposition to authorize extending by 10 years (to 20 years) the term of the “Capital Project Fund.”

Two trustee seats are open for full three-year terms. The candidates are for the seat currently held by Thomas R. Evans are Liam S. Heraty and Susan Conniff. The candidates for the seat currently held by Jonathan Atkeson are Miki Kapoor and Martin V. Palmeri.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Blue Gym


In the Eastchester school district, voters are being asked to approve a $92.3 million budget for the 2021-22 school year. That represents a budget increase of 3.9 percent and a 2 percent increase in the property tax levy.

There is also a proposition for the $44,367 to partially fund the Eastchester Middle School roof and gymnasium renovation project.

Three trustee seats are open for full three-year terms, and one seat is for a partial term ending June 30, 2022. The candidates are Christie McCloskey, Jonah Rizzo-Bleichman, Christine Geagan, incumbent Tara Conte, incumbent Erin Murray, Jacqueline DiMarco, Andrew Savitt and incumbent David Carforo.

The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Eastchester Middle School.


In the Tuckahoe school district, voters are being asked to approve a $36.9 million budget for the 2021-22 school year. That represents a budget increase of 1.38 percent and a 2.37 percent increase in the property tax levy.

There is also a proposition for $9.9 million for improvements to all district school buildings and sites.

One trustee seat is open for a full three-year term. The candidate is incumbent Cynthia Tait.
