The Applestone Meat Company, which has meat vending machines in Stone Ridge in Ulster County and Hudson in Columbia County, recently opened an Eastchester vending location in Westchester County.

According to the company's website, the machines are stocked fresh daily. Raw meat, such as steaks and chops, remains in the machine for a maximum of a week. Processed foods, such as hot dogs, might remain for up to two weeks.

Applestone chose to use vending machines because, the company said, people want to run in, get what they want and get home. They realized a 24/7 self-service butcher shop would be a huge convenience to people.
