Arraignment For January Murder
The man who was accused of murder knew the victim, authorities said.
YONKERS, NY — A Yonkers man was arraigned for the murder of a friend in January. A Westchester County grand jury indicted James Hilliard of Yonkers for second-degree murder and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office.
Hilliard was sent to Westchester County Jail. His next court appearance is set for Feb. 19.
Shortly before noon Jan. 13, members of the Yonkers Police Department responded to 63 Beaumont Circle for a report of a possible stabbing.

Police found a woman, who was unresponsive, on the floor. She had been stabbed multiple times in her head and neck.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hilliard was arrested. He and the victim were acquainted.
