Bronxville Principal Search Extension

School officials hoped to have the process finalized by the end of April, but it is taking a bit longer because of scheduling conflicts.

The Bronxville Union Free School District has extended its search for a new Elementary School principal. School officials made the announcement at their April Board of Education Meeting.

130 people have applied for the position. Out of those 130 applicants, six people were interviewed for the Elementary School principal position. Of those six, four people are set to be vetted by the screening committee. School officials hoped to have the process finalized by the end of April, but it is taking a bit longer because of scheduling conflicts.

The screening committee is chaired by Rachel Kelly. The committee is made up of three teachers and three parents. Committee members have already interviewed all four candidates. The candidates are all currently principals serving in our region.

"We are doing the reference checks, review of writing samples, and follow up conversations with candidate," said Bronxville Superintendent David Quattrone. "Taking the time to be fully informed, balanced, and thoughtful is in the best interests of everyone."

School officials say they hope to complete the vetting process by early May.
