The Bronxville Union Free School District has just received $235,040 in grant money. There are a total of 21 grants that have been awarded. The largest grant in the amount of $79,000 is for a partnership between the Long Island University and the Elementary School. It starts up an internship program that will benefit aspiring educators, teachers and students.
A $40,000 grant will help the School District expand its work with creative and critical thinking. Other grant money will go to buying document cameras for the second grade and new filtered water bottle filling stations throughout the school. Students had previously asked for the filling stations.Â
Various professional development programs and iPad apps for coaches were also part of the grant from the Bronxville School Foundation, representing the award of the 21 grants to all three of the schools.Â
