Bronxville Students Win Poetry Contest

At the event, awards were presented to local students who won awards for best original work in the Bronxville Library's Fifth Annual Poetry Contest.

On Sunday, April 28th, the "Friends of the Bronxville Library" held is annual poetry reading, "Raising the Bar:  Lawyers Reading Poems on Justice." The afternoon featured local residents in the legal profession reading poems on justice.


At this event, awards were presented to local students who won awards for best original work in the Bronxville Library's Fifth Annual Poetry Contest.  This year's contest was entitled, "A Plea for Poetry, Poems on Justice."  This year's winners for best original work were:

Grades 3-5:  Mauro DeCillis, Grade 4, The Chapel School

Grades 6-8:  Artie Mabaka, Grade 7, The Chapel School

Steven Ircha and Emma Watters received their awards in person and presented their poems to the audience of the Yeager Room of the Bronxville Library Sunday afternoon.
