Concordia College Women's Tennis Team Claims CACC Championship

The Bronxville-based school was 8-0 in conference play in 2014.

The Concordia College Women’s Tennis Team was selected unanimously to claim the 2015 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), the school announced Tuesday. The selection was the result of the Preseason Coach’s Poll of the conference’s eight head coaches.

The Clippers are looking to capture their seventh straight CACC Championship later this fall. Concordia finished the 2014 season with a 15-7 overall record and a perfect 8-0 record in CACC play. The Clippers advanced into the NCAA Division II Tournament with their season ending in the East Regional Finals against No. 29 Queens (N.Y.), 5-3.

Concordia earned 64 points in the poll while Goldey-Beacom was second with 53 and Chestnut Hill rounded out the top-3 with 48 points. Philadelphia (40), Holy Family (28), USciences (25), Post (19), and Caldwell (11) finished in positions four through eight in the poll.

In the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll released in May, the Clippers were ranked No. 26 in the nation and No. 3 in the East Division among NCAA Division II teams.

Concordia will kick off their fall campaign on Friday, September 4th as they will participate in the three-day Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa.
