Eastchester EMS Members Begin Getting Coronavirus Vaccine

And the ambulance corps welcomed a new member.

EASTCHESTER, NY — The Eastchester EMS Volunteer Ambulance Corps had two things to celebrate recently.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, the organization said its members began to receive the vaccine against the new coronavirus.

"This is a major step in the fight against COVID and a massive leap in medical innovation!" the post said.

It went on to urge everyone to continue washing their hands, wearing masks and practicing social distancing because the infection rate is still high.

"The vaccine may be a great weapon in the fight, but the war against COVID is not over," the corps said.

The corps was also celebrating the addition of a new member —EMT Casey.
