Eastchester's Polpettina to Expand to Larchmont

The rumors are true, Eastchester's Polpettina is opening a second location in Larchmont. Co-owners Kyle Inserra and Michael Abruzese (who is also the executive chef) confirmed the rumors in an exclusive interview with Patch. The two say their new restaurant will be in the space that Espana Wine & Tapas Bar was in. Espana closed its doors late last month. Abruzese and Inserra say they hope to open the new Polpettina location this fall. Here is our interview with the co-owners:

Patch: Why did you decide to move into the old Espana space?

Kyle Inserra: We're always open to opportunities, so we had been checking out a few locations. 147 Larchmont Avenue just felt right, both in terms of the unique physical space and the neighborhood. Our Eastchester space is fairly cozy, and we want to preserve that intimate feeling in Larchmont, while taking advantage of a much larger dining space. 

Patch: What unique aspect is your new Larchmont restaurant bringing to the dining landscape?

Michael Abruzese: Our approach is unique. We focus on real food, locally sourced and globally inspired. And our hope is that people can enjoy it in a place that feels like home, without all the stress of entertaining. We hope Polpettina will be a nice complement within Larchmont's food scene. 

Patch: How did the success of your Eastchester location factor into the expansion of Polpettina?

Kyle Inserra: The support we've had in Eastchester has everything to do with our ability to expand. Our patrons and the community are fantastic. We're committed to Eastchester and looking forward to making new friends in Larchmont. Some of our regulars are joking that now they'll have to decide which location to visit. We hope both!
