Felony DWI Charges in Tuckahoe

Police say a Mount Vernon man was arrested in Tuckahoe for driving drunk in the Village. Tuckahoe's Finest got a call about someone driving erratically on the southbound side of the Sprain Brook Parkway around 12:30 a.m. last Friday.

John C. Melvin had a blood alcohol level of .2 percent, according to Tuckahoe Police. The limit in the State of New York is .08. Melvin was arraigned on the same day on felony DWI charges and his bail was set for $500.

Police say this isn't Melvin's first run in with the law when it comes to driving drunk. A number of years ago, Melvin was convicted of DWI in Cortlandt.

In addition to the felony DWI charge, Melvin was also ticket for driving without a license and police impounded his 1998 Volvo.
