Grand Jury Hearing Case Of Plastic Surgeon With Weapons Cache
Police said weapons were found in the doctor's car and two residences.

TUCKAHOE, NY — The plastic surgeon who was arrested last week after being accused of having a large cache of weapons appeared in Tuckahoe Village Court Wednesday. Dr. Matthew Bonanno, 47, is being held without bail in Westchester County Jail.
His next court appearance is set for Monday, according to the Journal News, unless he is indicted before then by a grand jury that is hearing the case.
Bonanno, a resident of Great Neck, Nassau County, was arrested Aug. 12 after an investigation into a report that he made threats against his estranged wife.

He was taken into custody at Growler's Beer Bistro in Tuckahoe and was found to be in possession of an illegal loaded Glock semi-automatic handgun, police said.
Authorities said a subsequent search of Bonanno's car led to the recovery other weapons, including five assault rifles that were fully loaded with high capacity magazines, three handguns, more than 1,600 rounds of ammunition, a stun gun, handcuffs, brass knuckles and a pepper spray fogger.

Additional weapons were found at a home in Mount Pleasant and at his Long Island residence, according to the police.
Bonnano's attorney, Paul Gentile, said the weapons were used at firing ranges and in wooded areas, the Journal News reported.
