Hazardous Weather Outlook For Bronxille's Work Week

BRONXVILLE, NY — It was a short break. We'll be back to high humidity, heavy rain, storms and possible flooding in the Hudson Valley by midweek, forecasters say.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

Tropical moisture will once again surge northward between a slow-moving storm and a Bermuda High (a strong area of high pressure offshore) for the end of July and beginning of August, said Kristina Pydynowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

And if you're going to the beach on vacation, be wary. Rough surf and rip currents are expected by midweek in the mid-Atlantic, southern Long Island and southeastern New England.

Here's the National Weather Service's work week forecast for southern Westchester:

• Monday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 5am. Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
• Tuesday: A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Tuesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 72. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight.
• Wednesday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Cloudy, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph.
• Thursday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88.
• Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72.
• Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85.
• Friday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71.
