Labor Day 2019: What's Open, Closed In Bronxville, Eastchester
Here are some things to be aware of during the end-of-summer holiday.
BRONXVILLE, NY — Whether you're ready or not, the unofficial end of summer is approaching. The Labor Day holiday weekend might be some consolation for the end of your summer relaxation, but that means some services will be shut down for some or all of the long weekend of Aug. 30 through Sept. 2.
Here's a look at what will be open and closed for Labor Day:
- Federal/State offices — closed
- City/Town/Village offices — closed
- Schools — closed
- Libraries — closed (some are closed for the entire weekend; call ahead or check their website)
- Liquor stores — some will be open for a limited time; call ahead
- Grocery stores — most will be open; call ahead to be sure and to check for early closing hours
- Refuse/recycling pickup — no collection Monday. Check for your holiday collection schedule.
- Courts — closed
- Financial markets, such as the New York Stock Exchange — closed
- Post offices — closed
- Bee-Line buses — Sunday schedule

Additional "early get-away" will be available Friday, Aug. 30. On Saturday and Sunday, a regular weekend schedule will be in effect. On Monday, Sept. 2, Labor Day, a Sunday schedule will be in effect. Most connecting services will not operate on Labor Day. See the MTA's schedules page for more details on train times.
