Lane Closures To Snarl Cross-County Parkway In Eastchester

The daytime work should avoid rush hour, but still...

EASTCHESTER, NY — For the next two weeks, weekday single and double lane closures are expected to occur on the Cross County Parkway between the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Hutchinson River Parkway. Expect delays!

Crews will be performing construction activities, weather permitting. Lane closures are anticipated on both eastbound and westbound sides of the Cross County Parkway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily from July 16-27.

Seek alternate routes where possible.

Use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices, including signs.

Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.

Recently, NYSDOT and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee unveiled a new public service announcement and social media campaign focused on the importance of respecting flagging personnel. This year’s work zone safety campaign, “Flaggers have families too,” is designed to remind motorists that flagging personnel are not attempting to disrupt traffic – they are simply doing their jobs and want to get home safely at the end of each work day.
