NY Gives Eastchester, Tuckahoe $21K+ In Highway Safety Grants

EASTCHESTER, NY — The Eastchester and Tuckahoe police departments are among the local recipients of federal highway safety grants awarded to programs across New York for projects addressing overall highway safety, child passenger safety and police traffic services.

The state is distributing more than $37 million to help reduce deaths and serious injuries due to crashes to more than 500 programs in local, state and nonprofit agencies.

"This funding is critical to the localities and community organizations that help ensure our roads are safe for everyone who use them," state Assemblyman William Magnarelli, chair of the Transportation Committee, said in an announcement.
