Route 22 Utility Work to Result in Lane Closures

The closures affect the Town of Eastchester and the Village of Scarsdale.

EASTCHESTER, NY — Motorists are advised that beginning on Monday, August 27, single lane closures are expected on Route 22, between Montgomery Avenue, in the town of Eastchester, and Scarsdale Boulevard, in the village of Scarsdale, while utility crews perform a gas main replacement, weather permitting. Work and lane closures are anticipated to last through October and expected to occur weekdays between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Motorists should anticipate delays and seek alternate routes where possible.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
