Sean is running for Team Aisling

Cheer Sean on in the Yonkers Marathon

On October 21st, Sean Moore will be running in the 2018 Yonkers Marathon. Sean grew up in Dublin, the Northside Ballymun Area and now resides in Yonkers, NY. He started running about 14 years ago, when he ran in the Aisling Center’s spring 5K.

Sean’s running story did not start until he was 40 years old where his first run was slow and with some walking. He was not a runner in school, but would now encourage anyone that is thinking about getting fit to try running. Start with a 5K and continue slowly. He progressed to the 10K, than half and finally the full marathon. He recommends running as a way to enjoy the natural beauty of the parks and reduce stress. He’s now completed a several marathons and says “there is a great feeling when you finish and race you have trained. The Aisling Center is providing a great help to all with the Yonkers 5K, half marathon and the marathon, it will be a great day in Yonkers.”

Now in its 93rd year, it is the 2nd oldest Marathon in the United States. The Yonkers Marathon is one of the toughest marathon in the East. Starts downtown Yonkers then through a hilly course along the beautiful Hudson River.
