Service Monday for Bronxville's Thomas Jakelich, 16

The following obituary is from the Flower Funeral Home:

Thomas Richard Jakelich of Yonkers died on October 26, 2015 while attempting to score a goal in a soccer game for Loyola School of Manhattan, where he was a sophomore. Thomas, 16, sustained internal injuries in a collision with another player that turned out to be fatal.

He leaves behind his remarkable mother, Jeanine Sieja, his father, Thomas Jakelich, his grandparents, Rick and Julie Bagshaw, his brother Robert Newman, his sister Jessica Newman and his stepfather Rick Newman.

Thomas was an extraordinary human being who will be remembered forever by his closest family members, his Uncle Jerry O’Connor and Aunt Teresita, their children, his cousin Jerry Jr., his cousins Jean and Scott Sanders, their children, Joannie, Maggie, Sarah, his cousins Patrick and Michelle O’Connor, their children Jack, Danny, Cate, his cousin Beth O’Connor, her son Billy, his cousins Julio, Alejandro and Luis Ortiz. His Uncle Jim O’Connor and Aunt Sue. His Uncle Robert Sieja and his children, cousins Adrian, her son Gage, Julia, and Bobby. His Aunt Carolyn Sieja-Bagshaw, his Uncle Jim Bagshaw, his children, cousins Isabella and Jimmy. His Uncle Roger and Aunt Kathy Sieja. His Uncle Ralph Sieja and Aunt Debbie, his Aunt Cheryl Sieja and all of their children and his deceased grandfather Robert Sieja. He is also survived by numerous friends, neighbors and even strangers whose lives he touched.
