St. Joseph's Church - All Saints Day Mass

St. Joseph School 5th graders depict saints at All Saints Day Mass on November 1, 2018

All Saints Day, also known as All Hallows' Day, or Hallowmas, is a Christian celebration in honor of all the saints from Christian history. In Western Christianity, it is observed on November 1st by the Roman Catholic Church, the Methodist Church, the Lutheran Church, and other Protestant denominations. The Eastern Orthodox Church and associated Eastern Catholic churches observe All Saints Day on the first Sunday following Pentecost.

At St. Joseph's School, it is an annual tradition for the 5th graders to research and report on a saint at the All Saints Day mass at St. Joseph's Church. The students wore costumes depicting the saint that they had been assigned and presented facts about the saint following the 10:00 mass which was attended by the entire school. It was a wonderful celebration for all who were involved!
