Tropical Hudson Valley: Bronxville's Work Week Weather

BRONXVILLE, NY — We kick off the work week feeling like we're in the tropics. The Hudson Valley can expect high humidity and intermittent rain, high dew points and scattered downpours.

"Our strong southeast flow has settled in, and left us with a rather tropical feel," said the guys at Hudson Valley Weather. "We will see this pattern continue into Tuesday and Wednesday."

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

An approaching frontal system late Tuesday night into Thursday morning could produce showers and thunderstorms capable of causing flash flooding. It is still too early to pinpoint exact timing and locations to be impacted.

Here's what the NWS predicts for the work week in southern Westchester:

• Monday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 80. South wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Monday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 2am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 70. Southeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Tuesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. South wind 9 to 14 mph.
• Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southeast wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Wednesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. South wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
• Wednesday Night: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 69. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
• Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83.
• Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65.
• Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.
• Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63.
