USO Holds Parade to Thank Stop & Shop and its Customers for Raising $537,000 in Support of Members of the Military and Their Families

The USO held a Thank You Parade in the Yonkers Stop & Shop parking lot located at 111 Vrendburg Avenue to thank Stop & Shop and its customers for their ongoing support even in the midst of a pandemic.
Throughout the month of July customers utilizing self-checkout are able to round up their purchase to the next dollar amount and donate all funds raised to the USO. Stop & Shop customers’ generosity to date has resulted in $537,000 in donations to benefit the USO. The support campaign will continue through the end of July. Customers at the Vrendburg Avenue Store donated the most of any store, helping to raise more than $18,000 to benefit the USO.
“It is incredible that in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic our customers are able to provide this much needed help to our men and women in uniform and their families,” said Yonkers Stop & Shop Store Manager, Stephen Neilsen. “The kindness and generosity shown during this very difficult time is heartwarming and underscores the community’s concern for all of our neighbors.”
