Village Lutheran Church Youth Group Gives Back

The 3rd-8th grade youth of Village Lutheran Church joined together in a night of service to the community.

Bronxville, NY- On Thursday, December 4th, the 3rd-8th grade youth of Village Lutheran Church joined together in a night of service to the community. The youth made Christmas banners that will be delivered to the hospitalized and home-bound members of the congregation. Each youth also brought in a Christmas present that will be given to a child who is at-risk or in foster care in Westchester County. Together they wrapped the toys, games, books, and other gifts that will help brighten another child’s Christmas morning. “Since we are blessed with more than we need, it is our responsibility to share with those less fortunate,” stated Kate Marino. This gift-giving event was part of GenerationOn and Hasbro’s The Joy Maker Challenge. For every youth that participated in the youth group service event, Hasbro is donating one toy or game to Toys for Tots this Christmas season. It is true that a little giving can go a long way! “It is great to see the youth of our congregation coming together and thinking of others during this wonderful season of Advent,” stated Rev. Scott Geminn, Associate Pastor of Village Lutheran Church.

Kate Marino, The Chapel School Music Teacher for Pre-K through grade 2 and Youth Minister of the Village Lutheran Church, organized the event.
