$735 Clinton Hill Studios Available In Affordable Housing Lottery

The city put up a batch of apartments from $735 to $888 in the former bakery turned residential building at 555 Waverly Ave.

CLINTON HILL, NY — A batch of affordable apartments in a former commercial bakery turned residential building went up for grab's in the housing lottery this week with rents ranging from $735 to $888.

The city added 38 apartments inside 555 Waverly Ave. to the affordable housing lottery with applications starting on Tuesday and ending on May 24, city records show.

The lottery includes a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments for people who make 60 percent of the neighborhood's area median income (AMI), according to the city.

The apartments are in a new eight-story building that took over a former Jewish bakery, New York YIMBY reported. The building includes a rooftop, gym, bike storage, tenant lounges and parking.

The lottery includes 11 studios for $735-a-month for a single person making between $27,086 to $40,080, according to NYC Housing Connect. They also have 20 one-bedroom apartments for $741 available to one person making $27,086 to $40,080 or two people making between $27,360 to $45,840.

There are also seven two-bedroom apartments with a rent of $888 available for two people making between $32,435 to $45,840, three people making $32,435 to $51,540 or four people making $32,435 to $57,240.
