Brooklyn Weather Alert: Wind, Rain, Flooding Expected Monday Into Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather alert for New York running from Monday morning into Tuesday.

BROOKLYN, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather warning for New York from 1 a.m. on Monday through 1 a.m. on Tuesday, with high winds and coastal flooding expected. On Sunday night into Monday morning, Brooklyn will see a low of 42 with consistent winds of 25 m.p.h., though gusts could exceed 40 m.p.h.

Then on Monday, showers are expected to start at around 7 a.m., leading to steady rain in the afternoon. Winds will consistently blow between 25 m.p.h. and 30 m.p.h., though gusts could exceed 40 m.p.h. The high during the day will be 43, with a low of 39.

Monday evening will be cloudy with periods of rain and continued wind from 25 m.p.h. and 35 m.p.h., but gusts could surpass 50 m.p.h. The evening's low will be 39.

The rain and wind will continue into Tuesday, which will have a high of 43, consistent winds around 20 m.p.h., and gusts above 40 m.p.h. The rain should finally stop by Tuesday evening, which will be cloudy with lighter winds and a low of 36.

The sun will return on Wednesday, which should have light winds and a high of 50 m.p.h.
