BROOKLYN, NY — Happy Labor Day! Here are some of the Brooklyn openings, closings and real estate-related stories that made headlines last week:

Carroll Gardens

  • Welsh restaurant Sunken Hundred has opened on Smith Street (DNAinfo)

Clinton Hill

  • A new rendering shows the ten-story building that is planned for the former site of New Sapolo Restaurant in Clinton Hill (Fort Greene Focus)

Crown Heights

  • Shallow's Cafe has opened on Rogers Avenue, and it aims to soon blend American and Carribean cuisine (Patch)
  • The Key Food at the corner of Washington Avenue and Lincoln Place will close early next year — and then re-open in 2019 inside a new apartment building at the same location (Patch)

Downtown Brooklyn

And a study by real estate listings company StreetEasy has provided the latest assessment of re-sale prices for homes in South Brooklyn, Northwest Brooklyn, the Prospect Park area, Greenpoint and Williamsburg, and East Brooklyn.
