No, Brooklyn Isn't Under Attack -- It's Just Fleet Week
A comprehensive guide to Fleet Week New York 2016 and all the ways it will interrupt your perfect Brooklyn lifestyle.

BROOKLYN, NY — You may find yourself wondering, at some point this week, if the 22 gigantic, successive booms coming from just below Sunset Park are the battle sounds of a 21st century Revolutionary War revival, or if the throngs of boat-shoed tourists swarming to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook have been set loose by a foreign army as annoying decoys.
But you need not fear: 'Tis only Fleet Week New York, that annual Memorial Day pre-party in which military men and women, past and present, metaphorically kiss their biceps (and America's!) aboard large hunks of expensive metal for a full week of air, sea and land events.
