Address: 8405 Queens Blvd., Suite 1C

Awang is an Indonesian Asian fusion and sushi bar that opened in late March. Its menu is extensive, comprising — but nowhere near limited to — rice and noodle dishes, soup entrees, seafood a la carte, sushi and sashimi, vegetarian options, signature sushi rolls and a selection of homemade desserts.

Alta Calidad

Neighborhood: Prospect Heights

Address: 552 Vanderbilt Ave.

At Alta Calidad, Chef Akhtar Nawab’s goal is to provide great Mexican cuisine with each dish served — Alta Calidad translates to “high quality.” For dinner, try the octopus and pork belly served with avocado aioli. Thirsty? Sip on Coyote Wishes, made with mescal and aperol, punt e mes and ancho reyes. The options are plentiful. Open since February, Alta Calidad also delivers.

Sandobe

Neighborhood: Bushwick

Address: 918 Broadway

Korea meets Japan in the heart of Bushwick. Sandobe, which opened in January, describes itself on its website as a provider of what “the neighborhood has been craving.” Owner Kenny Nam brings the bright flavors and wide-cut style of sashimi to Brooklyn through a technique that Nam learned from his father. Come for the kimchi pancakes and Miley Cyrus specialty rolls, stay for the hot sake and karaoke.

Daily Provisions

Neighborhood: Gramercy

Address: 103 E 19th St.

Daily Provisions — a self-described neighborhood coffee bar, bakery and sandwich shop — is a new spot by Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group that has been open since March. The Gramercy eatery opens early in the morning to serve pastries and egg sandwiches, and at lunchtime diners can sit down for made-to-order sandwiches and salads. For newcomers, Daily Provisions suggests the slow-roasted rotisserie chicken and the eatery’s loaves of freshly baked sourdough bread.

The Campbell

Neighborhood: Midtown

Address: Grand Central Terminal

The Campbell opened this past May in Manhattan’s iconic Grand Central Terminal. Restored to its original grandeur, the location maintains the integrity of the property’s historic architecture while introducing contemporary design elements, according to The Campbell’s Facebook page. A selection of classic and modern cocktails will highlight fresh ingredients, wines and locally brewed craft beers, complemented by a menu of small plates as well as soups, salads and sandwiches.
