NYC Subway Delays: Commutes Roiled On A, C, E Lines
Several straphangers reported long waits during the morning rush hour.
BROOKLYN, NY — Subway delays rankled commuters on the A, C and E lines Thursday morning. Signal problems at Broadway Junction caused "major delays" on the A and C lines, the MTA said.
The issues forced southbound A trains to run local from Hoyt-Schermerhorn to Broadway Junction and southbound C trains to run express from Broadway Junction to Euclid Avenue, the MTA said.
E trains were also delayed in both directions because of someone needing medical assistance at Jamaica Center-Parsons Archer, the transit agency said.

Several straphangers complained about long waits and packed platforms in the middle of the morning rush hour. One Twitter user reported spending 25 minutes at the Clinton-Washington station on a Far Rockaway-bound A train.
"A whole hour before I needed to be somewhere and I’m going to be 45 minutes late now!!" Kirk Lydell tweeted. "Why do you charge people if nothing is changing!"

L train riders also briefly suffered from delays heading toward Eighth Avenue because of a train with mechanical problems at the Myrtle-Wyckoff station, New York City Transit said. But the MTA reported good service on the line as of 8:35 a.m.
