Prohibition Disco

Bushwick
What: Move your feet to the sounds of some vintage disco and check out old-school burlesque performances. Themed costumes are strongly encouraged.
Where: House of YES
When: Friday at 10 p.m.

TAMA Summerfest
Neighborhood:
Bedford-Stuyvesant
What: A street festival featuring local boutiques, eateries, wellness services, rock climbing wall, STEM tent, children’s corner, live entertainment and more.
Where: Tompkins Avenue between Gates Avenue and Halsey Street
When: Saturday at 12 p.m.

Coney Island Sand Sculpting Contest
Neighborhood:
Coney Island
What: Now in its 28th year, this sand-sculpting contest will take over this south Brooklyn beach for one day only. Lucky winners in each category will take home a $250 cash prize. This event is sure to attract crowds by the thousands.
Where: Coney Island beach from West 10th to West 12th streets
When: Saturday at 12 p.m.

Twigs & Swigs
Neighborhood:
Williamsburg
What: An all-volunteer event designed to help the community center weed out and prepare its education garden for the upcoming school year. A post-event happy hour will be hosted by Bronx Brewery.
Where: Williamsburg Community Center at Martinez Playground, Graham Avenue between Scholes and Stagg streets
When: Saturday at 12 p.m.

Back to School Community Fair
Neighborhood:
Prospect Park
What: Stock up on school supplies at this family-friendly event. Free, pre-filled backpacks will be given out to the first 200 children to register. The day’s festivities will also include entertainment, special guests, raffle prizes and more.
Where: Prospect Park West at Fifth Street
When: Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Inside the House of Collection: NYC's Cabinet of Curiosities
Neighborhood:
Williamsburg
What: An exclusive tour of the House of Collection, “a private 2,000-square-foot apartment located inside a refurbished bookbinding factory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, that contains a sprawling curated collection of lost-and-found, passed down, left behind, and gifted items to the house,” led by the woman who helped create it.
Where: Tour meets outside South 4th Bar & Cafe, South Fourth Street at Berry Street
When: Sunday at 1 p.m.

Workshop: Glass Terrariums
Neighborhood:
Gowanus
What: A five-hour, beginner-friendly, intensive workshop, where participants will have the chance to create one or two glass terrariums by hand.
Where: Brooklyn Glass, 13th Street between Second and Third avenues
When: Sunday at 2 p.m.
