Spumoni Gardens Murder: NYPD Release Video of Man Wanted for Questioning

GRAVESEND, BROOKLYN — NYPD have released video of a man wanted for questioning in the murder of Louis Barbati, 61, co-owner of L&B Spumoni Gardens in Gravesend.

Video of the man walking was captured near the scene of the homicide shortly before Barbati was killed.

According to the NYPD, a man named Louis Barbati, 61, was shot in the torso outside his Dyker Heights home at 7 p.m. Barbati was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

L&B was founded in 1939 by Italian immigrant Ludovico Barbati, according to the restaurant's website, and is renowned for both its spumoni, an Italian dessert, and its pizza.
