259 New Affordable Units in East New York Taking Applications
Studios are going for as little as $494 per month.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — Applications are now being accepted for 259 new affordable units in two East New York residential developments.
The buildings, known as the Gateway Elton III, are located at 1062 Elton St. and 475 Locke St., and collectively contain studios, one, two, three and four bedroom apartments that can host as many as eight residents.

The studios can be rented for as little as $494 per month, and are available for individuals making $18,275 to $25,400 per year.
The most expensive four bedroom units will rent for $1,322 per month, and are available for families of up to eight people collectively making between $47,212 and $71,760 annually.

The buildings' amenities include parking (for an additional fee), a bike room (also for a fee), a wi-fi lounge, laundry rooms and a fitness center.
You can see the complete breakdown of available units below or online, and apply using the city's Housing Connect website. Applications will be accepted until September 2nd.

When filling half of the units, a preference will be given to applicants from Community Board 5. A percentage of the units will be set aside for applicants with mobility, vision or hearing disabilities. When filling five percent of the units, a preference will be given to municipal employees.
