64 Affordable Apts. Available In New Brownsville Development

The Stone House at 91 Junius St. has 12 studios, 41 one-bedrooms, eight two-bedrooms and three three-bedrooms up for grabs.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A new six-story apartment building is going up on Junius Street with 64 affordable units up for grabs on the NYC Housing Lottery.

The Stone House, which is currently being built at 91 Junius St., will reserve 64 of its 161 apartments for low-income households and charge between $670 and $1,224 per month.

The twelve studio apartments will cost $670 per month and are available to a single resident who earns between $25,303 and $33,440 annually.

Forty-one one-bedroom apartments will cost $882 per month and are available to households earning between $32,709 and $45,840 annually.

Eight two-bedroom apartments will cost $1,065 per month and are available to households earning between $39,120 and $57,240 annually.

And three three-bedroom apartments will cost $1,224 per month and are available to households earning between $45,292 and $66,420.

The building, which will also reserve 90 apartments for homeless families, was designed by the Urban Architectural Initiative and comes from the nonprofit Win, the largest provider of shelter for homeless families in New York City, according to the agency’s website.

All residents will have access to building amenities, which include a laundry room, community room, an on-site super, outdoor playground and on-site social services.

Apartments will be fitted with electric stoves, Energy Star appliances and central air conditioning.

The building stands on Junius Street between Liberty and Glenmore avenues, is two blocks away from the Atlantic Avenue L train station and five blocks away from the Alabama Avenue J and Z train station.
