BK Bus Driver Traps Rider In Luggage Trunk And Drives Off: Cops

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn bus driver trapped a passenger in the bowels of a Peter Pan bus that then sped away toward Boston, police records show.
Wendy Helena Alberty, 49, was arrested in Union, Connecticut, Sunday after a 32-year-old woman trapped alongside passengers' luggage in a trunk called 911, according to Connecticut state police.
Connecticut troopers caught up with the bus on I-84 about 4 p.m. and rescued the woman, who was not hurt, from inside the compartment, police records show.

Alberty allegedly locked up the woman with the luggage when she tried to pull something out of her bag, police records show.
The troopers boarded the bus and arrested Alberty, who was not behind the wheel at the time but still onboard, and charged her with breach of peace, reckless endangerment and unlawful restraint, records show.

Alberty, of East Flatbush, was arraigned in Rockville Criminal Court and held on $2,000 bail, according to police records.
Her next court appearance is schedued for Aug. 21 at 9:30 a.m.
