BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A troupe of Brownsville residents will mount the stage of Central Park's Delacorte Theater to sing about Hercules.

More than 60 Brooklyn residents have been cast in the Public Theater's production of "Hercules," a musical based on a Disney movie, that will hit the Central Park stage from Aug. 31 through Sept. 8, the theater announced.

Jelani Alladin, who played Kristoff in the Broadway musical "Frozen," will play the eponymous lead and Krysta Rodriguez, Roger Bart and James Monroe Iglehart will co-star.

The production comes through Public Works, an initiative that pairs the Public with local community organizations to provide theater classes, tickets and opportunities to people across the five boroughs.

For "Hercules," the theater partnered with the Brownsville Recreation Center and Center for Family Life in Sunset Park in Brooklyn, among others.

Tickets will be free and available through an advance digital lottery as well as a daily standby lottery.
