The 37-year-old man's body was found dead inside a homeless shelter in Brownsville, police said.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Police found a man dead of an apparent drug overdose in a homeless shelter in Brownsville late Sunday afternoon, they said. The 37-year-old man was found lying unconscious on the second floor of the CAMBA shelter on Atlantic Avenue, cops said. Emergency responders found the victim dead on the scene, the FDNY said. Cops did not yet release the name of the man.

Shelter staff injected him with a shot of Naloxone to counter the effects of a potential opioid overdose, police sources told the New York Daily News. The victim had used crack and ecstasy in the past, police sources added. There were no drugs found at the scene, but two crack pipes were found, according to the Daily News.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, cops said. The medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
