EAST NEW YORK, NY — The city's housing agency is planning a slew of buildings on a swath of land in East New York, records show.

The Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has applied in recent weeks to build 15 four-story apartment buildings at 406-461 Vandalia Ave. between Gateway Drive and Essex Street— an area that now sits empty. The rental buildings will each have eight income-restricted apartments and stand between 37 and 65 feet tall, records show.

No parking is planned for the apartment buildings, which will contain from 6,642 to 6,841 of residential space, according to the applications.
