EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — A man died Sunday night after he sped into a truck in East New York, police said.

Zackariah Johnson, 22, died after his car burst into flames, police said. Johnson, who lived nearby in Canarsie, was speeding east on Cozine Avenue, and swerved into the west-bound lane on Montauk Avenue, where just after 9 p.m he crashed into the unoccupied, parked garbage truck, said police.

A passerby pulled Johnson out of his white Toyota Camry, and after cops found him unresponsive outside the car at Cozine and Montauk Avenue, he was taken by medics to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the NYPD.
