East NY Fire: Blaze Breaks Out On 6th Floor Of Sutter Avenue Building
The flames were put out by 3 p.m., with no injuries reported, an FDNY spokesperson said.
EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — A fire broke out Wednesday afternoon on the 6th floor of a 7-story apartment building at 1210 Sutter Ave. in the East New York area, an FDNY spokesperson told Patch. The fire that was sparked in apartment 6A resulted in all-hands-on-deck, with 60 firefighters and 12 trucks working to put it out, the FDNY spokesperson said. As of Wednesday at 3 p.m., no injuries had been reported, but it was still an active fire scene, the FDNY said. Firemen were checking to make sure there was nothing that would re-spark the fire in the ceilings and walls, he said.
