Funeral Held For Evedette Sanchez, Mother Of 3 Killed In East NY Hit-And-Run
Family and friends of Sanchez mourned her loss on Monday. Police still haven't found the driver who killed her.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Relatives and friends on Monday mourned the loss of Evedette Sanchez, a 39-year-old mother of three young children, who was tragically killed in a hit-and-run in December.
Sanchez was fatally struck by an SUV on Dec. 28 at 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of Louisiana and Flatlands avenues in East New York, police said.
According to police, the driver got out of his car, looked at Sanchez's dying body and fled the scene.

Her husband, Willie Evans, told the New York Daily News he had to tell their youngest daughter, 5-year-old Laila Sanchez, in small installments what had happened. He said he couldn't tell Laila how her mother had passed, and he instead told her her mother was sick in the hospital.
There have still been no arrests, cops said, and the investigation is ongoing. Evans desperately wants to find the person who killed his wife, he told the Daily News. The car that struck her was a late 90's Chevrolet SUV with tinted windows and rims, he said.

"If I said everything about her, it wouldn't be enough. She was beautiful," Evans said about Sanchez. "You wouldn't believe Evedette. If you knew her, you would know why everyone is here."
A GoFundMe has been started by Sanchez's cousin to raise money for her family.
