On Tuesday, June 6, 2017, the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services (The Jewish Board), unveiled a giant mural at the Brownsville Child Development Center of The Jewish Board. The mural, which took six months to complete, sends a message of hope and growth to the children and families the clinic serves, and to the community.
The Brownsville Child Development Center is the first mental health clinic in Brownsville for children from birth to age 5. The Center was developed by The Jewish Board, NYC’s largest provider of mental health services, in partnership with almost 30 local child-focused Brownsville programs.
Groundswell, an organization that brings together artists, local youth, and community organizations to use art as a tool for social change, created this inspirational mural depicting a celebration of family. The 25’ wide by 11’ tall mural decorates the front of the new clinic.
