L Train Delays Cause 'Dangerous' Platform Conditions: Passengers
"I've never seen the L train this bad," said one of the L train straphangers reporting overcrowding, freezing temperatures and fights.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — L train straphangers reported extensive delays and a “dangerous” number of people in stations during rush hour Friday morning as the MTA scrambled to fix a broken switch.
“@MTA this isn’t just ‘delays’. This is zero L Trains and dangerous platform conditions” wrote Marcy Lang on Twitter. “FIX THE SUBWAYS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.”
The recent “bomb cyclone” snow storm and resulting deep freeze caused switch problems at the Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway station near Glenwood Road around 8:15 a.m., said the MTA.

A crew was assigned to the station to fix the broken switch, but straphangers reported up to 90 minute delays and overcrowded platforms on social media.

In four years of living in New York, I've seen some things. I've never seen the L train this bad.

Some Canarsie-bound trains made their last stop at Sutter Avenue and shuttle buses ran between Sutter Avenue and the Canarsie station.
