Man Critically Injured In E. New York Shooting, Police Say
The 40-year-old man was shot near a playground on Stanley Avenue and Eldert Lane, police said.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — A man was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries Thursday morning after being shot near an East New York playground, police said.
The 40-year-old victim was shot in the head near Stanley Avenue and Eldert Lane around 6 a.m., an NYPD spokesman said. EMS took the man to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center and his injuries are considered life threatening, police said.
The NYPD is investigating the shooting and has not yet determined a possible suspect or motive, a department spokesman said.
