Pitkin Avenue Summer Plazas Brings Block Parties To Brownsville
There's a month's worth of block parties coming to Brownsville, and the first is this Sunday.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Summer Plazas will bring outdoor movies, drum carving classes and a slew of other family-friendly activities to Pitkin Avenue this June.
The three-weekend event launches this Sunday, June 9, on Pitkin Avenue between Strauss and Amboy streets from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with live music, face painting, a Zumba class and a barbecue, organizers said.
The following Sunday, June 16, will feature special Fathers Day activities such as a puppet show, photo booth and a drum carving workshop.

Pitkin Avenue 2019 Summer Plazas wraps up on Friday, June 21, with an outdoor movie night from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The events come courtesy of NYC Weekend Walks in conjunction with local Brownsville community groups such as the Pitkin Avenue BID, Brownsville Partnership and 73rd Precinct.
