16 'Affordable' Apartments Available In New Bushwick High-Rise

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A batch of "affordable" apartments in a new Bushwick high rise hit the city's housing lottery Friday, but are only available to New Yorkers earning between $72,000 and $149,000 a year, records show.

Sixteen units are up for grabs at 260 Knickerbocker Ave. through NYC Housing Connect, the city's affordable housing program, but only to those earning 130 percent of the area median income,city records show.

Seven one-bedrooms cost $2,100 a month and a single person needs to earn between $72,000 and $97,110 a year to qualify for it, city records show.

Nine two-bedroom apartments that cost $2,300 a month are available to households with a combined annual income between $78,858 and $149,890.

The development made headlines in 2017 when owner Yoel Werzberger and ND Architecture filed plans for an 11-story building, the tallest to rise near Maria Hernandez Park.

The mixed-unit building will include space for the Iglesia Bautista Central church that once stood on the property, CityRealty reported.

Amenities include a rooftop terrace and laundry room residents must pay to use, according to the listing.
