'Affordable' Bushwick Apartments Cost $2,300 A Month, City Says

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A new batch of "affordable" Bushwick apartments hit the housing market this week, but are only available to New York households bringing in at least $77,000 a year.

Eight two-bedroom apartments at 15 Cedar St., near Bushwick Avenue, became available to New Yorkers who earn 130 percent of the Area Median Income on the NYC Housing Connect lottery Wednesday, city records show.

Three units cost $2,250 a month and require applicants earn between $77,143 and $138,710 a year, the listing shows.

Five units cost $2,300 a month and are only available to households bringing in between $78,858 and $138,710 a year.

Amenities in the five-story, 25-unit building include an elevator, gym, central heat and air conditioning, pay-to-use laundry, a game room, and rooftop access. Some apartments come with balconies.

The building is about three blocks away from the Central Avenue M train station and four blocks away from the Myrtle Avenue-Broadway M, J and Z train station.
