'Affordable' Bushwick Apartments Cost $2,449 A Month

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Six new "affordable" Bushwick apartments that will hit the housing market next week are available to anyone who can afford to pay about $2,000-a-month in rent, city records show.

New one- and two-bedrooms opening up at 406 Cornelia St. and 1503 Jefferson Ave. on April 29 will only be available to New Yorkers earning 130 percent of the area median income, according to the NYC Housing Connect listings.

The Cornelia Street apartments — a $1,949-a-month one-bedroom and two $2,449-a-month two bedrooms — are only available to households bringing in an annual salary between $66,823 and $146,510, city records show.

Building amenities include a laundry room and storage space residents must pay to access and the deadline to apply is May 20.

The Jefferson Avenue units — a $1,669-a-month one-bedroom and two $2,449-a-month two-bedrooms — are available to households earning from $56,538 to $146,510 annually, city records show.

Residents will have access to a backyard, coin-operated laundry machines, and a pay-to-use storage space.
