A Brooklyn singer and activist was charged with two counts of assault stemming from an argument she had with a 74-year-old man.

MIDTOWN, MANHATTAN – A Bushwick resident known for her outspoken anti-bullying stance was arrested Thursday night after allegedly shoving an elderly man to the ground during an argument near the protests outside Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue.
Shacara McLaurin, 23, a known anti-bullying activist and singer, was arrested near the corner of West 55th Street and Fifth Avenue, where she had been arguing about the recent election results with a 74-year-old man whom police said she shoved to the ground, DNAinfo reported. The victim was treated at an area hospital.
Police confirmed to Patch that witnesses saw the woman push the man after an argument about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. After she was taken into custody, McLaurin was charged with both misdemeanor and felony assault because of the victim's age.
