Bushwick Getting New Blink Fitness
The two-floor Knickerbocker Ave. facility is set to open March 7.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Bushwick will be getting a new Blink Fitness location at 399 Knickerbocker Ave., near the Knickerbocker Avenue M train subway stop, opening on Tuesday, March 7. Memberships will start at $15 a month. The two-story location will offer 72 pieces of cardio and 72 pieces of strength equipment, according to a spokesperson for the company.
Blink memberships come in Gray, Blue and Green monthlies, which are $15 to $25 per month and all have different levels of features. Blink already has 10 locations in Brooklyn, and two additional locations that are under construction, including this one in Bushwick.
A ribbon-cutting opening ceremony will be held on March 7, and all proceeds from 50 1-year gray memberships to a local non-profit organization, according to a Blink spokesperson.

The nearest Blink location to this one, in Bed-Stuy, has received mixed reviews on Yelp.
"Motivating atmosphere. Wasn't sure what to expect but it's a great gym. Everything is brand new. Way better than planet fitness and worth the couple extra bucks a month. Love my new gym!" one user commented.

But other users had more negative things to say. "The floor for stretching or doing abs it's harder than the floor on the rest of the gym hence its useless. The A/C is never cold enough specially when it's crowded," one commented.
It remains to be seen whether this new addition to the franchise will be a positive one or a location that leaves much to be desired.
