Bushwick Open Studios 2017: What To See And When To Go

Here's Patch's guide to the 11th annual Bushwick Open Studios.

BUSHWICK — Step into the art world this weekend, when the neighborhood’s resident painters, photographers, performers and more will open their doors for the 11th annual Bushwick Open Studios.

More than a hundred studios in Bushwick, Bed-Stuy, and Williamsburg will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Events:


Opening night of Seeking Space at Beyond Studios NYC

  • Where: 272 Seigel Street
  • When: Friday night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • What: A massive exhibit with more than 200 participating artists specializing in various mediums.

Graham Avenue Art Walk

  • Where: Graham Avenue
  • When: Saturday and Sunday
  • What: Graham Avenue storefronts will display work from local artists.

Art Trucks!

  • Where: Outside the House Of Yes at 2 Wyckoff Ave.
  • When: Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • What: It’s experiential are on the go. Guests will be invited to step into the following: the Vagina Truck, the Kaleidoscope Truck, the Velco Sumo Wrestling Truck and Laser Maze Mission Impossible.

“Deface vs Displace” Curated by Color Scenes and Bushwick Street Art

  • Where: The Bushwick Street Art Gallery at 1009 Broadway, Suite #203
  • When: Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • What: An “action-packed performance” with live painting, vendors, performances and an art exhibition.

The Bushwick Open Studio After-Party

  • Where: House of Yes at 2 Wyckoff Avenue
  • When: Sunday at 9 p.m.
  • What: Artists and art lovers are invited to this dance party with music from the House of Yes resident DJs and special guests. Proceeds will go to Educated Little Monsters, a youth empowerment organization in Bushwick.
