Rapist Attacks Woman After Breaking Into Bushwick Apartment: Cops

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A rapist in Bushwick used a brick to break a woman's apartment window and climb inside early Wednesday morning, police said.

The man broke the window of a basement apartment found near Central Avenue and Madison Street around 4:30 a.m. as the 22-year-old woman slept inside, police said. The woman, woken up by the noise, found the man in her apartment and tried to confront him, but was forced into the bedroom, police said.

The man raped the woman before stealing her cellphone and wallet with $65 cash and credit cards inside, police said.

The woman was taken to Interfaith Hospital in stable condition and has since been treated and released, police said.

The man was caught on surveillance video in what appears to be a bodega or grocery store both before and after the rape, even dancing and smiling with sunglasses on in one video, video shows.

He is described as being in his mid-20s, standing approximately 5'8" tall and weighing 150 pounds with a thin build and a full beard. He was last seen wearing blue Adidas sweatpants with white stripes, a multi-colored hooded winter jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, black sneakers and a light blue crocheted cap.
